What happened

Naubise-Mugling-Pokhara (Prithvi Rajmarg) (NH17) is currently fully closed at Benighat Rorang-7, Benighat Rorang-3, Dhading since 30 Aug 2026. Reported cause: Landslide · River flood caused toe cutting, wash out of half width of road.

This stretch has been continuously blocked for 15 days, since 30 Aug 2026.

The closure spans 2 separate blockage points along this corridor — locations and causes above are combined from each point.

This is a recurring closure: blocked 3 of the last 7 days, so expect repeat disruption on this stretch even after it reopens.

The Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway (NH17), which connects Naubise to Mugling and Pokhara, has been closed since August 30. The closure was triggered by the Trishuli River, which caused toe cutting and the washout of half the width of the road, rendering the route impassable.

The disruption has left fuel tankers and LPG bullets stranded, forcing a significant logistical shift in the supply chain. To maintain essential services for the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding areas, the Nepal Oil Corporation has rerouted the transport of petroleum products and LPG through the Tribhuvan Highway, also known as the Byroad. This alternative corridor is currently being utilized to bring in gas cylinders from industries in the Tarai; approximately 24,500 cylinders were delivered on September 3, followed by 34,134 on September 4.
